Benefit Fraud and Tax Evasion

This is what we have with Linda Joan Heyes of 93 Edgemoor Drive in Crosby, Liverpool L23.

Get this .......

She trades on EBay as shop_2_u_drop! and grab_a_bargain_today (amongst a few others) and she uses her husband's name for trading to evade the DSS.

That is fair enough.

Except that:

(1) None of this is declared to the Inland Revenue (except that I have advised them of Linda Heyes' activity - ie buy at Poundland and sell for a massive undeclared profit); and

(2) She is claiming state benefits under her maiden name of Linda Lucas at a totally different address. The DSS do not know that she is married to a teacher called Mark Heyes, who is also complicit in this fraud.

(3) Whilst claiming state benefits, she is also getting money from her employer. The employer knows nothing about this fraud and the DSS don't know about payments from her employer.

The DSS know about (2) and (3) now and hopefully this evil cheat will go to jail.

I wonder how much deeper the black economy goes than this?

How would using her husband's name evade the DSS? They look at both incomes.

How do you know she isn't declaring it? Did she tell you? And if she is, as you say, using her husband's name, then perhaps he is declaring it.

Perhaps it is the husband's business, and she just deals with the sales side of things?

Again, how do you know this for sure?

Again, how do you get this idea? How for example does she get time off work to sign on?

Unlikely, even if what you say is true

A lot deeper.
