I am looking to re-mortgage in the next month, and have found after a bit of a search, a deal with Northern Rock for 2.7% fixed rate for two years going to base rate -0.5% after that with a £1000 on completion, only payable back if you move mortagage within the third year.
Does anybody know if there is any catches (I cant spot any) with this deal, or is there anything better out there at the moment?

The lowest rate deal I can find on the site is 2.99% fixed for 2 years with a £695 fee. Looks like it reverts to a standard variable at the end of 2 years, and there is a large penalty for redeeming it within 7 years.
