Can anyone confirm the Cash ISA limit for 05 / 06. ?
I originally saw a Budget report indicating a new limit of
1000, not worth bothering with. Now I've heard it's back to the original 3000, with rumours it's been upped to 5000.

Some weeks back I saw some messages on the Motley Fool forums with links to the official budget announcement that the limit had been increased to £3000. Take a look there.

Where?
From 2005/06 you can have:
Maxi ISA of 7K made up of either 3K cash and 4K Stocks and Shares *OR*
7K stocks and shares (you can't have maxi ISA with 7K cash)Mini ISAs totalling 3K/4K made up of cash/stocks and shares respectively. You can have one (but not same twice) to make a maximum 7K
Insurance ISAs aren't very popular and seem to have been excluded from the contribution tables, so guess they've been phased out.
From 2006/07 the proposal is:
MaxiISA of 5K made up of either 1K cash and 4K stocks and shares *OR* 5K stocks and shares
Mini ISAs totalling 1K/4K made up of cash/stocks and shares respectively. You can have one (but not the same twice) to make a maximum 5K
Was there actually ever an Insurance ISA available?
I've seen a few people ask in here where they might find one, and nobody ever answered.
Yes, The CoOp and Scottish Amicable and likekly others as well.
Pearl used to offer one, it was just a with profits (!) savings plan, but was very popular with the die hard Pearl Customers.
