And if levels of CO2 are the problem, then why was it colder 400 million years ago when there was TEN times as much CO2 in the atmosphere?
When I worked for HMG I often got phone calls from people asking if I had got their fax. When asked "When did you send it?" the reply was always "Just now" or "5 mins ago". My reply was "Well call back tomorrow then". they could not understand that the admin structure of the department would take at least 12 hours to get the fax from the fax machine's office to mine.

(Actually these are good questions. Just because some changes may be happening to the climate, and we are pumping out more rubbish into the atmosphere than we should - it does not mean that everything MUST fit in with particular theory that currently attracts political, celebrity and financial support at the moment. I don't say none of it is true - just that there may be a bias in favour of the trendy.)

Donno, but X million years ago, the UK was ice more-or-less north of the Bristol-The Wash, so a /bit/ of global warming has appeared to be a Good Thing...
