About to go down the route to try and get compensation for a mis sold endowment policy and was wondering whether anyone could recommend a company or companies to approach with regard to following this through for me.
I've heard of companies like Endowment Claims

and was wondering what people thought of these organisations. Has anyone had any dealings with them and if so, how have they found them? Are there any other companies I should approach or for that matter avoid? Recommendations please?
Many thanks for your time and help,
Rob.

I'm doing a claim with these people and it looks like thay take about 30%, but I guess 70% of something could be better than 100% of nothing if I did a self administered claim and had it turned down.

I wouldn't bother with these companies.
It's easy to do it yourself.
I have just been successful with my case, although it has taken over a year to to sort out. Most of this time was down to the financial ombudsman being snowed-under with similar complaints.

Avoid all of them.
Do it yourself.
If you are satisfied that you were missold an endowment (as opposed to just joining the gravy train) the just ring the life office and say " i was missold this endowment, send me the forms'. If the policy was sold by one of the life offices tied agents you will have the forms in a day or so, if it was sold by an IFA they will tell you who that was ands you just ring them.
You dont need to answer all the questions about your mortgage since you got the endowment or answer all the questions about your circumstances when you got it.
The key point is "I wasnt told there was a chance that my mortgage wouldnt be repaid in full". The other extra points which may apply are "the endowment matures after I have retired" and "I was single then with no dependants so I didnt need life cover".

What's wrong with gravy trains? If someone was missold, then they were missold.

Your posting doesnt make sense.
You are misreading what I say. Unfortunately there are many who werent missold endowments who are now lying in order to try and get some dosh.
