EU Wants To Strip UK Of Regulatory Powers?

I get your point, but how can I understand if a millionaire is happy with 'his modest fortune' or he wants more? ;-P

Money is only worth what you can buy with it, and I have enough for what I want. People who spend their lives adding to their millions may be happier than those struggling to make ends meet, but they are obviously not contented people. I am. ;-)

Yes. It's the pursuit of money for money's sake - only to be known to have the biggest yacht, house (sorry, that should be mansion) or jet (or a multiple thereof) in a gigantic, global game of Brag - that is pitiful.

Still, these character defects do, at least, keep the artists and artisans in business, indulging the escalating whims of the foolishly wealthy. Abramovitch, Berezovsky, Pinault, Gates, Mittal and Ambani are the Medicis of our time. Perhaps the work they commission now will be celebrated in 500 years time, and scrapped over by the trillionaires and quadrillionaires of the future!

I think he could spend most of it on just one car. Not an ordinary car built out of plastic by robots, of course, but it illustrates how inflation has eaten into purchasing power.

It's an assumption (maybe a correct one in many cases, but an assumption just the same) that every billionaire does it just to be able to brag. I can conceive of someone who just enjoys striving in the money game, as perhaps a composer might strive to produce ever-better symphonies. Whatever turns you on, IOW.
