firstsave account - any experiences?

Any of you had any experience of using firstsave.. I notice they subscribe to the banking protection scheme or whatever it is ...90% of the first 35k. Looks interesting at first glance. Whats the others think?...and yes I know that the 6.5% is introductory rate, but as usual I am a rate tart having been stuck with ING for too long and have today given account closure notice.

It isn't voluntary!

Owned by First Bank of Nigeria?

Not Nigeria.... but MBN I think... ans the only thing that puts me off is their postal address.... Newcastle... and whats at Newcastle... Northern Rock!

And Kevin Keegan - all their problems solved in one. The trouble is that they may well get Richard Bransom, that well known Virgin, as well.

This is the trail I followed ...

FBN Bank (UK) is a wholly owned subsidiary of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, with offices in the heart of the City of London.

We are the London bank for Nigerians, either resident in the UK or simply visiting. We also offer our expertise in all West African countries.

...and one of our Nigerian directors would like your help in getting US$16 million from a dormant account out of the country.

Bugger.... theres me thinking its MBN!... FBN! thats exactly what came to my mind...all those phishing email scams and i have provided them with my sort code and account no to set the account up! This was recommended on the money programme I believe.

So is the general concensus to leave well alone?

.............. and I have given them my uk passport no., driving licence number...and God knows what else! they could do a right job on identity theft with that little lot!!

Who is MBN or MNB anyway? The only link I can find is Magyar Nemzeti Bank, which is the Hungarian central bank.

I'm sure there is an honest Nigerian somewhere.

Ime dyslexic.... or is that dislexic...or dislecsik

I was thinking of mnba!...internet banking

The MBNA Corporation was founded in the U.S. in 1982, it grew from being a regional credit card issuer to one of the largest independent credit card issuers in the world. They were bought by Bank of America Corporation in 2006. They do a lot of affinity marketing cards.

Bugger...there I go again!
