I don't trust this on-line nonsense yet, so my tax return is done on paper. I completed mine uncharacteristically late this year and it went in the post first class on 23rd October.
My tax refund appeared in my bank account *today*!
OK, it was only a simple short-form SA200, but even so I had assumed they'd be inundated by a huge backlog of only-just deadline-beating submissions which would take them many weeks to clear.
