House-style type TV progs & CGT ?

You will have all seen the house style type progs that pervade peak time tv viewing. The type where someone buys another house, does it up a bit and sells it for a profit. Now then,as they dont live in it and they already have a permanenet home, surely the developed property is subject to CGT when sold? If this is so,it never seems to get a mention on such programmes...I wonder how vigorously the taxman pusues this?

It's technically liable for Income Tax, though I imagine lots of people try for and get it taxed using CGT.

Ms Beeny mentions it frequently

with vigor - if he finds out.
