You must make an application to continue to hold current directorships. See this link

think about demoting yourself to a manager and appointing a spouse in your place as a director - but make sure they do real work so they don't become a shadow director.

No matter how much work *they* do, *you* will still be a shadow director if you are acting as one de facto.
