I have some ishares. I wanted to contact the Registrars. I rang the ishares helpline (0845 357 7000) who told me that the Registrars were Computershare Ireland (tel: 00 353 1216 3100). From the UK this is billed as an international number. When I dialled this number, the chap I (finally) spoke to admitted that he was sitting in Computershare's Bristol office (the line is being redirected). He also said I wouldn't be able to ring the usual 0870 number to ring direct into the Computershare Bristol department for ishares.
One might be slightly miffed at having to dial an international number, particularly to get to the Computershare Registrars in Bristol (perhaps ishares - Barclays Global Investors - could provide an 0845 number for the Registrars for UK investors??!).
