Limit Of Overdraft .

In September I am to get an amount of refunded Widows Pension Contributions because I become 60 and have never married . The amount is for the period 1978 to 1996 and bears interest to the date of payment . I am wanting to use part of it to buy a s/h car but could really do with getting a car now. I bank with Abbey National and have an overdraft of £600 which is usually almost totally taken up each month . Is there any likelihood of getting an overdraft of an additional £2500 until this money comes through or am I expecting too much .I can provide evidence of getting it but not the exact amount. thx in advance Stuart

You need to ask Abbey National. They do a calculation to determine how much overdraft anyone can have. As this is based of past payments into the account, the expected money wont help your case.

You could consider paying off the overdraft as your first priority, then buy the car with what's left.
