They were suspended on 19 July 2010. Only 5 year (it seems)available at present, both fixed & index-linked

  • fixed (97th, paying 2.25%) (same as 96th)
  • index-linked (48th, 0.5%+RPI) (47th was 1%+RPI)

Still using RPI (not CPI) for indexing.

As you say, they might have brought them back but my last ones were 5 year @ RPI + 1%. Looks pretty miserly at 0.5%!..... 5 years is up on September this year.

I just did 15K into the 5 year RPI + 0.5, tax free. As you state it used to be RPI + 1, tax free.

It's still a good deal for those of us who regard inflation as threat

  1. Even better if you pay high rate tax.

Better still, you can still cash in, on anniversary dates without loss of interest.

Have you all noticed how incredibly rubbish the fixed term cash deals are with Hargreaves? Of course they want us to buy funds and get their commisions (upfront and annual).

I really wish a SIPP provider would appear that offered the available fixed term cash deals (I just got some 5 year 5%) - even with say 0.5% taken off for them. Will somebody please start a SIPP company that does this.
