can anyone shed som light on this one?
My wife left an occupational pension about 13 years ago after contributing for 11 years.
Two yeras ago she joined a different Occ pension and now she is leaving that employment for another which has no arrangement (small business)
having consulted other people ( not experts) we believe the best option would be to:
- Leave the older frozen pension (Council superann scheme ) alone as it will be index linked and may perform less well if transferred to a stakeholder.
- Transfer the 2nd pension (NHS) which will only have a few hundred pound in it to a new stakeholder and start contributions so that she can fix a retirement date at about 60 when the 1st one is payable.
Anyone got any experience or reasons to support/dispute this plan?
thanks Alan
