Property valuation textbook

Nov 29, 2005 4 Replies

Hi! I'm studying property valuation in Israel and I've noticed that UK theory and practise is very rigorous, much preferable to that of 'Real estate appraisal' in the United States. Therefore I'm interested in purchasing a UK property valuation textbook. Is there anyone who could advise me on this? Thankyou.

Thankyou for your reply. I did go to the RICS bookstore, as you suggested, and then checked the customer ratings in Amazon. They were very useful in narrowing my choice to two or three books. But beyond that its 'a shot in the dark'.

I) There is the gut, how much would I pay for the property valuation. Ii) The how much could I get someone else to pay for the property[1] iii) The loading on ii for an asking price iv) The valuation the owner is looking for v) The valuations different agents will put on it vi) The down valuation if surveyor A is instructed by a purchaser vii) The valuation if surveyor B is instructed

I could carry on.
