I also live locally, and your blog doesn't give any idea why this company is incompetant? Its fairly reasonable for a part not to be carried around with them all the time and have to be ordered in. For all we know the incident could have happened on a Thursday, called the company out Friday (order then placed), part arrives Monday put on Tuesday morning. Sounds fairly reasonable to me!?

There are lots of houses that don't have central heating, and other forms of heating could have been used in the interim - or, of course, as she's your friend - surely they could have stayed at your gaff or another friend/ relative for the short period?

On Sat, 09 Dec 2006 22:34:56 GMT, a particular chimpanzee named "Mustaffa Leek" randomly hit the keyboard and produced:

While you're in the area, you should also avoid Merseyside Central Heating of Crosby and Birkenhead (proprietor Eddie McCormack).

They charged an 80 year old widow close to £2,000 for a bog-standard replacement boiler, but failed to install the controls needed to avoid it firing up non-stop and running away with the gas bill.

They also cocked up its fitting, causing the boiler to leak gallons of rusty water over the kitchen floor 14 months later. They then refused to repair it without charging, as they said, "it's out of warranty". Only the threat of court action in the face of overwhelming evidence that they were liable, and the evidence of the boiler manufacturer that they had damaged the boiler when they put it in, caused them to back down.
