Unfortunately, copying other people because 'they have got away with it' is no justification, as MPs are only just finding out. Not that you appear to be doing this, but it's just an observation.

Have done this, last week, and so far have been ignored by payroll department.....
On the one occasion I was overpaid and told the company they didn't even say thank you

I think, last time this was discussed, we concluded that if I left the money available for return, I would not.

Surely only if they could prove he knew he had been overpaid, which would be nigh on impossible unless they'd, say, added noughts on the end. If the amount isn't that great it would be easy not to realise, or claim so.
I got underpaid this month, but didn't realise until HR rang me to apologise and say they'd correct it next month!

Still no reply to my email from the payroll department. Looks like someone would rather this didnt come to light. Well, I've told them that I've noticed a discrepancy but I'm not going to chase them....
