Tax implications of regular standing order?

My girlfriend has recently moved in with me and pays her share of the bills through a regular monthly standing order into my account. Are there any tax implications in doing this?

I don't think so. What sort of implications did you have in mind?

As far as I'm aware her payment to you would only be considered as your 'income' for tax puposes if it were a purely commercial arrangement, for which she was paying rent. Even so, you could deduct the cost of delivering the 'service'.

Even if it was, it would almost certainly be covered by rent a room relief.
