My wife recently had a reminder sent to her for her Dad who passed away in April 2001. I suppose theoretically, he should have a tax return for year
2001-2002 but this is going to be difficult (he was a self-employed taxi driver).Any ideas ?
Tax is still payable in the event of death.
Write to the Inland Revenue and explain why no one can do any accounts.
They may want to know what happened to his assets and whether he should have paid tax.
