Unit Trust/OEIC Mini Isa.

I had until recently an equity ISA with Egg. Originally minimum investments were £20 per fund, but this was raised to £100 per transaction- where a transaction can be a purchase of more than one fund.

Then Egg decided to flog Egg investments to Fidelity, who transferred the accounts to the "FundsNetwork" service. Nowhere in the pack introducing the new service, or in the online FAQ did it say these terms would change, I even sent them messages about it and got no response.

I'm fairly happy with the facilities with Fidelity but sort of troubled by the lack of flexibility. With Fidelity there is a minimum lump sum investment of £250 per fund, whether or not this is a top-up, whether or not you are investing in other funds at the same time.

For my 2005-6 investments, anyone know of anywhere offering Unit Trust/OEIC based ISA with lower minimum top-ups than this? Or should I stick with fidelity and invest in fewer funds less often?

Others do accept lower minimums for top-ups and regular amount. Off the top of my head, I'm sure M&G do, but do check out others.

I recall a conversation with a rep from Fidelity, although they state minimums, they don't tend to return cheques that are for less due to the expense - amounts within reason though!

Why not set up a monthly savings plan? They'll accept down to 50 AFAIK.

I think that Alliance Trust and Savings accept £50 as a minimum. Others may take less as regular monthly payments.
