I advertise my VAT registered business on Google Adwords. They do not show VAT in their billing figures, and say we have to 'self assess' VAT. I have asked them what that means but can't get any sense from them. Does this mean VAT is included in their invoices or not?

Where are they invoicing from - UK or abroad? Have you spoken to the VAT office - they are usually very helpful.
