Your tax bill - £100 million......for roads in Afri ca.

Britain will today announce £100 million of funding for an ambitious scheme to rebuild southern Africa's infrastructure after decades of neglect.

The North-South Corridor is an attempt to create a network stretching from South Africa in the south to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania in the north, with spurs running off to ports on the Atlantic and Indian oceans.

Africa is Africa, no amount of money will change that. We build roads and they let them go to ruin. English taxpayers ought to be incensed their money is being thrown away into that jungle. There is no justification for giving foreign aid to anywhere, least of all Africa.

Even an African can surely make a dirt road? Roads, cars, schools, churches, no matter what we give them it always reverts back to dust. They are not us and should not live like us, it's a socialist monkeys tea party on a continental scale.

I worked in Central Africa for 20 years and I agree it is total MADNESS.

The World Bank funded thousand of miles of new roads in Zambia in the

70's and they turned to dust within 10 years. Same with all the new schools that the WB funded. Derelect shells after 10 years.

Thowing our money into Africa is one of Gordon Brown's grand schemes. He is mad, absolutely raving.
