Banks That Still Distribute Real Checks with Statements

Somehow apparently the bank lobbyists managed to get a law passed that says they no longer have to give you a copy of the check with each statement. You can contact your bank and request them to include the original check. I did this with a Bank of America account, and BOFA simply never follows through. When you complain - month after month - they say "well you are set up to receive checks, and I apologize you did not." But nothing ever changes. You never receive the checks.

Based on that I want to stop doing business with Bank of America. Can someone recommend financially sound banks in California that have good online banking and based on your personal experience still distribute the actual checks (or good copies for the occasional check) with the actual statement?

You have to realize that "Check 21" as it's called allows the other bank to process that check via electronic means. That takes a good portion of the ability of BOA (or any other bank) to assure that you get your checks back, as the depositing bank doesn't have to make you happy by sending BOA the check so they can send it to you.

See if any banks in your area will provide legible (full size) copies of front and back in an on-line version.
