You should, as you already know, call and explain the classes you took or are wanting to take to the Examining Board for the state in which you seek to qualify. Only they can confirm or deny that the classes in question qualify for being able to sit for the exam.

If - as "supersecret" claims - you earn a million a year, you should be able to fork out a few bucks in long distance and ask the people who have the final and absolute word. If they were to say "yes", get it in writing.

And seriously, if you really did make a million a year, what the hell do you want to be a CPA for?

Why CPA? Dude, I'm RETIRED. I've got all the money and time anybody needs. I'm looking for something to work on that when I'm done is actually something. I've got an MBA. So what? I've got a MS in computer science. So what? CPA I can do with 10 classes and actually have something when it's finished. Is that okay with you Mr. God's gift to accounting?!

If, that is, you don't so totally make me think the typical CPA is some psycho out of a Stephen King novel !

Under NY law you would have to have those classes form an under-graduate or post graduate program.

You do realize that the education requirements are just to SIT for the exam. All the education in the world doesn't guarantee you a passing exam grade. It ain't easy - ask anyone who has taken it repeatedly (that'd be most any CPA). And if/when you do pass the exam, you have an average of 40 hours of CPE each year along with other licensing requirements just to keep your license. And if you were to actually practice, you may be required to obtain a separate license for that (an office license) as well as meet the peer review requirements if you issue financial statements.

get a grip man! seems you get easily ticked off - not a good thing for future accountants! OK, you just want to hang a diploma on the wall and show it off and not actually get a job in accounting involving clients, auditors, etc. Maybe that's a good thing for you.

The state boards don't care what your grades were, or if they were pass/fail, just that you were granted credit for courses with approved content at an approved institution under approved conditions. Check with the state board for what these approved situations are. There is no one answer that fits all.

Did you think the answer would change if you changed posted response email addresses? (Why do that anyhow?)
