TurboTax Question

Hello all,

I recently moved, from an east coast state to a midwest state... while living on the east coast I had a job and I have recieved my W-2... and now living here in Midwest I have a job, and also recieved a W-2.

Obviously since I lived in two states I need to file 2 state tax returns, I also have stock and investments I need to take care of so I decided to purchase the TurboTax Premier edition. As I was getting ready to buy it I noticed it said it only includes 1 (ONE) state tax return... is TurboTax incapable of handling my situation?

Thank you, Shhhh

Not at all. You'll need to buy (on-line will work) the second state program (or more appropriately the unlock code). There should be more details, unfortunately, inside the box.

I don't have a clue as to what the fee is for the additional state. But if I remember correctly from the bitching and griping, it seems it was almost as much as the purchase you are contemplating making.

Their web site says it's another $29.95 for each state.

So what, it's $40 for the software, and another $30 for the additional state. You're up to $70 already before you factor in your time and agrivation.

I'd be surprised if it didn't.

It wouldn't be seamless with the software, but it generally shouldn't require a ton of data entry either (don't know if it saves to disk though).

does anybody have this problem? the turbo tax program does not seem to handle investment losses automatically. if you lost money in a stock, it seems you have to be careful to type it in by hand and to doublecheck that the program gives you some deductions.
