Wking at small firm in North Mass, any suggestions how to network to a medium sized or bigger firm?

I am working at a small firm in Northern Massachusetts. Anyone have any suggestions on how to network to a medium-sized or bigger firm? I hope to move up to a bigger firm in about a year or so.

For an accounting firm (that is why you are posting to an accounting group?) I would suggest joining the local chapter of CPA's or accountants, or whatever other professional groups there are close to you, that those types of people are also members. Go to every meeting you can possibly attend, and volunteer for a committee or something to actually ~be~ active (and therefore seen). When it comes time you let it be known that you are looking for a position if/when one comes open. You do that kind of in a casual manner to the people you have befriended and worked with in those committies.
