Anyone have experiance with a 401K Advisory service?

I ran across one of these websites while searching thru google for retirement fund options. I'm retiring soon and can leave my 401K where it is. Thought I might like to get a CFP's opinon on what's available in my company's plan. There are more than several listed. One charges $49.95 for an e-mailed report. What's your feeling / experiance - money well spent? I have no plans to make withdrawals for several years......

I'd roll it over to a rollover IRA. You can get a free check up and advice from Fidelity.

My feeling is that you can get decent advice right in this group, without paying money to strangers. The good thing about advice dispensed here, is that no one profits from it in any way.

It is not uncommon for 401(k) plans to offer inferior options at higher costs compared to a rollover IRA at a company such as Vanguard or Fidelity.

Can you find out what your 401(k)'s expenses are? Can you find out the ticker symbols of the options that are available there? If the answer to either of these questions is no, that's one signal that it may be a good idea to move.
