For Anyone Using "My Yahoo" Financial To List Their Portfolio, etc.

Hello,

Am getting on a bit in years now, so please bear with me a bit.

I have my Portfolio of stocks on My Yahoo, the Financial page where you can list them, and it shows values etc. Works pretty well for me, and I use the different Views that it offers. Nice program, and nice presentation format(s) for the data.

But I am having an absolute devil of a time in trying to transfer (Copy & Paste) the data to another text document.

I can do it with a Print-Screen and a Paste, but this is not what I really want.

I can use their Download-Spreadsheet button, but the downloaded Spreadsheet (into the latest Excel) which it opens up with on my PC looks nothing like what their page does.

If I just do a regular Copy of their page, and Paste it directly into Excel, it also comes up very, very, differently.

Does anyone perhaps kown how to do this so my Excel spreadsheet actually mirrors their page ?

Is there a more appropriate Forum or Newsgroup to post this question ?

Thank you very much, Bob

One can also create custom views.

The download spreadsheet is capturing the latest quotes and doesn't correspond to your view.

A regular copy doesn't have special delimiters between the fields

You will have to do some manual editing.

will giveyou more information on Excel.

I've tried the following with other on-line spread sheets.

Select the data that you want and paste it into Word (with page setup for landscape)

You may see the data in a vertical column. Show the hidden characters. Find and replace the paragraph symbols with tabs.

Save as text.

Open the text with Excel. Adjust the column width as required.
