RE: CFP Training Program Reviews?

I'm in the middle of the Boston University course. It's not actually given by BU

- it's administered by the Boston Institute of Finance under the auspices of Boston University. A few of BU's professors have contributed material. If you have questions, they're answered by BU grad students.

Overall, I'd say it's not a bad course. I don't come from a financial background, so I'm finding some of the material difficult, but I am learning quite a bit. I'd be a bit skeptical of laying out several hundred dollars to take the CFP exam with only this course - I'd definitely want to take a test review. But the material is good, and the course seems fairly well laid out.

Hope this helps.

Just wanted to point out that the CFP board of standards requires 3 years qualified work experience to use the CFP designation even if you have passed the exam. You have 5 years after exam completion to obtain the required experience.

Just a warning if you are not already working in the field.
