Peachtree report alternatives to Crystal

Nov 17, 2005 1 Replies

I'm doing some reports that are increasing in complexity beyond what I (think) can be done with Crystal 9. Was wondering if anyone has used other reporting software or Visual Basic to do Peachtree reports and how it worked out. The customer would like:

  • Integration with other Peachtree reports if possible.
  • Pick list to select from (for example) all PO's, SO's, etc.,
  • Selectable report formats for (example) PO's.
  • Dialog boxes to warn or inform the user of various situations.

I would like:

  • A debugger to debug formulas and functions.
  • A full programming language so I don't have settings here, settings there, formulas and functions all over.
  • Objects that are true objects in that you can set their properties in code. For example, putting text boxes on a report and letting the program put text in them. or align them, etc.
  • Tables so I don't have all of these little boxes to align and set borders on.

Yes, I'm a programmer, not really a report designer (does it show?).

Thanks, Dave

Hi Dave -

You might take a look at PAWCOM from Multiware, Inc. It's a COM interface for Peachtree that will give you the programming flexibility you're looking for.
