I want to know exactly what HQ is good for? If for example I have two locations, would it allow me to see what I have between locations? What is the advantage to having and using HQ?

HQ gives you the ability to centrally manage most of what goes on in your stores. Creating items, purchase orders, pricing, etc.
Yes, information is stored in the HQ about sales and inventory levels, based on the last update from the stores. If they connect to HQ once an hour, then you will see info that's 59 minutes old, from any of the stores. For a small number of stores, you could connect every 5 minutes if _really_ needed.
