For all you users out there please be careful about who you sign up with on credit cards. This is an example of a bad credit card company.

I am the owner/manager of The Greenleaf Restaurant in Ashland Oregon. We?ve been in business more than 20 years at this location. We have served over 2 million customers. Google "Greenleaf Restaurant" and check us out. We donate to local schools and numerous organizations and are active members of our community and local chamber of commerce. I have served on many organizations and boards here in Ashland.

I have just experienced the biggest rip-off of my 30 years in the restaurant business. I am so angry. I am on a one-man mission to alert others. Here is the short version of my experience.

For the last 2+ years Payment Resources International (PRI) in Newport Beach California processed our credit cards. In April of this year I was attempting to do some comparative shopping of discount rates thru other processors. On April 7,2005 we called PRI for some clarification of our statement. They directed us to Cascade Payment Systems. We called them and as the person who handled our account was serving in the Gulf at the time we were re-directed to another individual in their company. Having no response, on April 13, 2005 we called again and were informed of a early termination fee of $250.00 and at their request, faxed a statement in hopes that it could be explained to us. No response. April 20, 2005 we called again-left message-no response. April 25, 2005 we called again-left message-no response. At that point it was clear that we would receive no customer service and I instructed my bookkeeper to begin the process of switching credit card processors.

We eventually switched processors, (and saved over $400.00 the 1st month in processing fees), 5 months prior to our contract expiring. Upon receiving our bank statement for the month of August, we noticed 2 charges for early cancellation totaling $7,000.00. I have since spoken with their customer service who spoke with their VP. Tough luck-read the fine print.

SMALL BUSINESS PEOPLE BEWARE: THIS COMPANY (PRI) IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY. WE WERE SENT DOWN A BLIND ALLEY LOOKING FOR INFORMATION REGARDING OUR ACCOUNT WHICH WE NEVER RECEIVED. HAVING NO CHOICE BUT TO TERMINATE OUR CONTRACT, WE WERE THEN ROBBED FOR $7,000.00. THINK TWICE PRIOR TO DOING BUSINESS WITH ANY PROCESSOR THAT DEALS WITH THIS UNSCRUPULOUS COMPANY.
