When I try to run a report on daily sales for a particular cashier and I use parameters such as cashier # and then today's date, i don't know how to use the filter value for the date? Any suggestions?

If you are referring to the Daily Sales by Cashier, there is nothing to change for the date. It gives you the Week to Date, Month to Date and the Year to Date automatically.

You could run a Detailed Sales report, select your day(s), right click on the body of the report, Show/Hide columns, check the cashier box, then drag the cashier column to the left so that is the first column on the left.
Then it will sort by cashier.
If you think you will be running this report often, click on the memorize icon (looks like a floppy disk on the toolbar), then you will find your report in the Memorized section.
