DB Portability (from Eval to Registered)

Just want to confirm that the db I'm using now (created new under a demo version of RMS 2.1) will be able to be imported / reused as my primary once I move to the full blown version of RMS in the next few weeks...

Also, in reference to the various types of Barcode syntax...my ILC's are using numbers, cap letters and dashes...I' m assuming that this limits my barcode format to either code 128A or "3 of 9" (USD-3/39). Any benefits to either? It appears that 128A takes up a bit less "space" on it's output, but that's the only thing that comes to mind...

Thanx!

When you purchase the software, you'll get a hardware license key (known as a 'dongle') - just plug it in, restart RMS, and your evaluation database will be a live database.

I'd try to stay away from all special characters, including "-" in your look up codes, but you've obviously been doing your homework on what is allowed in each format. From my experience, sticking to all numeric codes will make your life easier when it comes to printing and reading barcodes.

I have been building our database since September, using alpha-numeric characters for our ILC. As Glenn states, avoid the dots and dashes. We use

128b, but with an unsatisfactory result. We have been forced to a 2.4 x .75 label, due to what appears to be a limitati> Just want to confirm that the db I'm using now (created new under a demo
