Deleted Items report?

Is there a report that shows the items which were Deleted as well as the cashier who Deleted these items and the date?

No there isn't. There is a table that lists deleted records and which table they're from, but no specifics other than date of deletion and record id of the deleted item - which serves no purpose because if you go looking for details for that id in the source table you can't find it because it's been - can you guess? - yup , deleted. Use Cashier properties and setup Security levels, not allowing any employee, except for yourself and maybe the manager, to delete items. You should not have to delete items anyways, of course there is always exceptions but if an item has been received or sold it should be made inactive not deleted, so taking this abililty away is not an issue for you.

Having said that there is a way to find items that have been deleted but you would need a backup of the database from when those items existed.

Rob, thanks very much for your replies. I will check out how to make items inactive and how to set up security levels. We are new to this hence some "too basic" questions :)

Zorian,

In addition to the rest of the comments, SO Manager | File | Configuration | Options | Reason Codes | Force Reason Code for Manual Inventory adjustment.

Then SO Manager | Database | Reason Codes | Create a reason code with a type of Inventory Manual Adjustment

Nobody will be able to delete and change a quantity in Items without a reason code attached to it.

Then run the attached report every so often.
