Different 'types' of sales

we have a web / mail order business and a brick and mortar store. All sales are being put through the same RMS store. When i did this by hand, in Quickbooks, I differentiated between the types of sale - web sale out of state, web sale in state, phone order out of state, etc.

Is there a way to do this? i need a report with sales from each type of customer, as opposed to a total sales figure.

Any suggestions?

We also have this issue, and what we did was to set up the various types of sales as Sales Reps, then required a sales rep to be selected with each tender. As long as you don't have another need for them, it works great. There are pre-built reports that break out sales by rep.
