Enter two consecutive sales for liquidating/discontinued product

Oct 13, 2007 3 Replies

Liquidating or Discontinuing a product line - I want products to go on sale for a certain period say 2 weeks or a month. Anything that has not sold will be reduced again for another 2 weeks or month, and then again if not completely liquidated. Each "period" sale will be for even greater discounts. I want to add all these consecutive sales/discounts at one time rather than having to wait for one sale to end before I can enter the next. When I tried to put in the second period of discounts it wiped out all my current period discounts.

I don't think you can do it without an add-on. There are several vendors that have promotion modules that might accomplish what you want. Craig

You can use our free Markdowns Control Report to do the following:

1) View all inventory with no sales movement in X days since received. 2) Apply markdowns to items that are not moving at current sale price. 3) Run the report on a regular schedule to apply additional markdowns as necessary to move stock. Ex. every two weeks or once a month.

The default report displays all items aged over 180 days (less than 2 turns) plus value at cost, QOH, any current sale price, date last change, etc. Right-click on the report and select Show/Hide to view other options. Default grouping is by dept/category but you can also include Supplier.

and request our RMS Toolkit 30 day trial. Select Custom Reports/Templates during installation. Then run Manager and select Reports, Custom, Markdowns Control Report. The custom reports/templates, labels, TenderView, and SmartPOP add-ins are yours to keep whether you decide to purchase the RMS Toolkit or not.
