Item Movement/Movement History and Item Qty reports

Oct 14, 2005 1 Replies

Hi, Does anyone know if there would be a reason for the Item Quantity report to not match the Item Movement History or Item Movement reports?

For testing purposes, I checked out the sample database. If I run the Item Movement and Item Movement History report, they agree that there is quantity

5 of the Football (item 15100). But if you run the Item Quantity Report, it shows 17 on hand.

I've checked the off-line inventory already and I can't find any explanation as to why these 2 don't match. The only possible thing I was thinking of was that the initial loading of the database says that there were 12 footballs to start off with. But of course, there's no way for me to verify this as there is no transaction in the tables.

Thanks in advance!

You are correct, the initial import does not show up on the item movement report. A better way to handle the initial import is to import the items without quantities then use the inventory count inside of RMS to import the quantities into RMS. The inventory count will be reflected on the item movement report. The other way this might also happen is if there was a change made to the quantity using a sql query to directly manipulate the item database table. Hope this helps..
