Hi Krista,
It's strange that this is recently started without a config in the settings.
Try the following:
Open Manager > File > Configuration > Tab Options.
Then look at the POS Options > Force logon each sales. Is this option marked?
If yes unmark and restart POS. If no mark en unmark and restart POS
