KB862814 "Server Failure 131"

"Server failure 131: A server failure occurred while attemping to read the current batch" Config. SQL Server

8 MSDE SP4, Windows XP SP2, RMS SP3.

I continue to randomly experience this error with a single POS installation of RMS. The original problem was as descibed in the CAUSE section of the KB articale "This error occurrs if a Tender Type was changed and all registers did not process a Z report after the change was made." Suubseqent Blind Closes/Z Report on the POS generates the error message and somtimes the POS cannot be restarted as well as unable to start the Manager. Anybody else seeing this and have a fix?
