I tried to buy RMS thru a microsoft business partner (I am in NJ but the store I am buying and installing in is in NH). The partner for NJ (I think he was in NYC) wanted to charge me $5000 for the software and 15 hours of training!

I got the software else where for under $1000 so he must have wanted $266 an hour to train me!!!!

I am a recent ex-IT executive. IMO and my experience, there are a lot more dirty vendors then clean ones.

A small boutique consulting firm who really cares about building up a business practice of return customers is often a good place to start looking for bids.

My store is in Manchester NH and I will be moving to that area in June. Never been there before.

Are you going to be bricks and clicks? I am curious as I am researching options for creating the web site and automating the processing of the orders into RMS. Microsoft keeps recomending a solution by Newestech.com. While their order download integration piece seems fine, the inventory and pricing automation upload piece is an upgrade version that is only sold thru StoreFront and I have heard lots of bad things on this board about them (on top of which I called Storefront and they had no "price list" for the components the sales VP seemed to pull numbers out of the air to come up with a number several thousand dollars higher then what Newestech said was the suggested price for the software).
