POS should support scales!

It is totally lame that POS does not support scales. RMS is way overkill for a small (one store, with only one register) food coop like mine, and POS does everything I need except for scales/weighed items. RMS supports them, and in the POS folder there is an "OPOSScaleLib.dll", so get with it, MS! I've got bulk lentils to sell!

The price difference bewteen MS-POS and RMS is so small that I suggest you upgrade to RMS. Better choice all around.

I totally disagree. It is NOT a better choice all around -- the RMS interface is incredibly clunky, and, frankly, it does not look like a product I would be proud to say that I spent $1000 on. POS systems are front-facing, and what they look like is incredibly important.

Not to mention that RMS is far too complicated for our store -- it's not just that it has tons of features we would never use, it's that those features actually get in the way of doing the (very simple) tasks that we do need. Too many features is as bad a problem as too few. Just ask Netscape.
