Quantity on order?

Is there a way in RMS to show the quanity on order for a specific item?

I want to avoid manually inspecting each PO in order to:

1. Avoid duplicate purchases of items that need to be reordered. (Neither the automatcially-generated POs, nor the Item Quantity report, appear to check for pending PO when determining quantity to order.)

1. Allow cashiers to lookup an out-of-stock item and be able to tell the customer that the item is on order and it's expected arrival date.

In the Item's Inventory tab there is a last order date, but no link to the actual PO.
