Receipt image extraction

Hi all, Has anyone found a way to extract the receipt image from the DB for use in say a web page? Is there a way of retrieving the compressed image through .net or has anyone come across a 3rd party supplier that can do it?

Thanks

Rich

Rich, We have been able to extract what is stored in the Journal table, but you may be disappointed to know that it is not an image. It is basically just the same text you find in the Receipt Template, but with all the variables filled in. You would still need an application to render the XML into some type of image. We could certainly do this for you but we have nothing prebuilt. If you are interested in seeing what this would take please contact me with the information below.

Ryan, if you could give us an example of your output as an attachment, that would be great.

This product will batch convert XML to PDF and word processing formats:

This is free, but I am not sure if it will to batch processing:

Jason, If you have access to RMS, then the output is basically already there for you. Just pick anything the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Retail Management Systems\Store Operations\Receipt Templates folder. The only difference between these XML files and the ones stored in the journal is that the variables are replaced with the actual text. This is a proprietary XML language created by SMS when this product was still there's. I do not think that the XML will easily be converted to a pretty word document.
