RMS accounting integration

Dec 21, 2005 3 Replies

I just received information on RMS linking to SBA and NOT SBF. It seems that those of us who feel SBF is the practical soulution for system integration still have to wait. Any thoughts on whether SBA is capable of replacing a 3 user QuickBooks Pro installation in one location as an accounting package would be greatly appreciated. We are currently using QuickBooks for payroll and are happy with it. My real question is can I have the horsepower, reporting capabilities, and integration using SBA with a five store RMS HQ environment. Thanks in advance.

Skip_Cycle,

I'm not sure I would. SBA is a three month old product, written by Microsoft, not their Great Plains division. Typical MS 1.0 product from what I've seen. 85% there, but not quite!!

I'd hold out for the new SBF integration (don't know when) or with 5 stores, I would be looking at GP with its integration already available. Look for a GP reseller in your area and compare the programs and integration levels.

Many thanks for your thoughts ... it does bother me that Microsoft has led me to believe since July that integration with SBF was going to be forthcoming. What part of under promising and over delivering don't they understand? They have it backwards. Have a Merry Christmas!

About halfway down ... and this WAS in July ...

Niranj[MSFT] (Expert): Q: What is the best accounting system for RMS integration right now, and can you describe the roadmap for any integration plans with SBA or SBF? A: RMS integrates with Great Plains, Small Business Manager, Dynamics, eEnterprise, Quickbooks etc. We tightly integrate with Quickbooks and we do have plans to integrate with SBA and SBF in the future.

Skip_Cycle,

I'm not sure that you understand that there is a integration module for RMS=>SBF 8.0 now. It's just not as robust as the one for GP.

Supposedly there is work being done to add more features to the module, there just isn't a release date for it.
