RMS and ecommerce

Basically i was wondering if there is an SDK around to allow me to create a ecommerce site for RMS. Im hoping to use C#.NET in Visual Studio 2005. Been looking through some of the documentation and there is nothing about this apart from using Yahoo Stores which i don't want to do. I want to create my own sites.

There is no SDK or anymore docuementation then what you already have. Although you should have all what you need with Yahoo Store example. If you are wanting to use RMS's built in Internet Order button at the POS to process the sales then you will want to place all your orders into the Exchange tables. Otherwise you will need to build your own addon that places all the items that are being ordered onto the transaction screen. Obviously there is a lot more that needs to be taken into consideration then what I have told you so far but it is definitely doable.

Thanks for the Reply Rob(1) - Im thinking of going the yahoo store method and using the exchange table within the database structure. I don't like directly accessing Microsoft Applications database - they seem the break to easy.

If im correct in thinking, Im just writing XML to the exchange table. However in the example within the help file there is no card or billing information. Do i have to process seprately.

You can pass the information into RMS and have the cashier process the transaction then and there or have your website process the information and just pass the completed transaction into an InternetOrder tender. I would think there would be pros and cons for both.

Been busy and not been able to follow up this post. anyway. I now have my head round the processing of payments. Still not totally sure how to add the order to the exchange table. In the help guide it states:

Insert a new row into the Exchange table with the following information. ProcessorCode column: The string 'YahooStore'. Data column: XML data for a single order (retrieved in step 2), enclosed in single quotes (').

How then when i try and process it in Store Operations POS by selecting control + Shirt + F10, nothing is displayed.

Anyone got any ideas.

Thanks for your time.

Attached is a sample insert into script that should get you re-pointed in the right direction. You will need to use a NewsReader like OE to see the attachment.

Thanks for that helped a lot - you really no your stuff.

Ive decided that im just going to create a seperate database to deal with transactions/ payments and the whole buying products online. However i do have to interact with the RMS database. From what i can tell i need to get a list of internet products and update the stock level of each product when someone purchases it. Can anyone think of any other information or updates i will need from the RMS database.
