RMS should be able to handle multiple serial numbers easier.

That is generally something you can configure on the scanner side. I would peruse that documentation to see how you can send a after the scan.

I agree that the ability to scan a serial number and have the focus move automatically to the next line would be nice. I just installed RMS in 3 cell phone stores where we do not use a back office server. One of the POS terminals also functions as the server. When they are receiving cell phones they are holding the box or cell phone with their left hand, the scanner is in the right hand. They scan the barcode, set the box down or the cell phone down, move the scanner from the right to the left hand, use the mouse with the right hand to click on "Add", then move the scanner back to the right hand and pick up the box or cell phone with the left hand and repeat the process. This is probably something the RMS software guys think is a small thing or maybe they do not think of it at all, until they are in the field in a "live" environment.
