Tax question

On July 1st. here in Ontario Canada we are changing the sale tax . My question is: can I change the tax from HQ? or do I have to go to each store and change it in each register? thanks Jose

Yes, you can change it from HQ and send it to one or all stores.

Rather than changing the tax, you might want to consider creating a new tax, changing the description of the old tax to "pre July1" or something similar, then modifying your Item taxes to drop the old tax and include the new one. You can also do this from HQ.

We had a tax change in our area a couple of years ago, and my customers found some of their tax reports a little confusing because the tax rate had changed in the middle of the year.

Either way you'll end up collecting the same amount...

We have a similar situation with a tax change. I created a new 7% sales tax and changed the item tax to use 7% instead of 6%. However when you recall an older order for return, it defaults to the current tax, and using Shift-F12 to change it to 6% tax just zeros the tax out. What causes this to happen, and how can it be fixed?
