Converting Quicken to Quickbooks 2006

I'll soon be converting a file (Quicken Prem 2005 H&B) to QuickBooks 2006 -- both US versions.

I've read the information contained in the QB Help file concerning conversions, but just thought I'd ask:

Has anyone else done a Quicken to QB conversion? Any particular frustrations? Any suggestions for ensuring a smooth transfer?

Any and all comments appreciated.

Don't expect much.

Don't expect much in the way of comments? Or don't expect much in the way of benefits of converting the data?

I simply expect it to transfer the year-to-date transactions, vendors, and various cash accounts. Am I setting myself up for disappointment?

Don't expect it to go easy.

Oh, don't get me wrong, it will convert, but the results may not be what you expect. Has to do mostly with not getting the links between the modules set correctly, because those links don't exist in Quicken.

I did the conversion from Quicken just this month. I then realized it was in my best interest to just enter the data from the beginning of the year by hand. Since quicken does not do double entry accounting, nothing was working correctly. Also the retained earnings and owner contributions and withdrawls were all off. Overall, I am glad I did not use the converted file in the end and used the manual entry one instead. Much less headaches and hassle from now on.
