customizing an employee quickreport

I need to be able to generate employee quickreports that show gross instead of net for each pay period but I can't seem to find how to change this. I've gone into the customization section but I just can't see anything that would give me gross totals instead of net for eacy payday. I'm in QPPro2008.

Please educate us, just why are you limiting yourself to a quickreport?

Well I get the occasional request from the state asking for an employee's hire date to present gross wage verification broken down by paycheck and the employee quickreport is pretty much the exact same thing except it lists net pay instead of gross.

Well you are out of luck using a quickreport, If you should decide that you really need this information then I suggest you print one of the other payroll reports available that have this information.

Can you suggest a report that will list total gross pay per pay period? I have tried modifying a few since I posted this and the closest I can come to is getting one to list hourly and hourly OT in seperate columns per pay period. I am not saying that I can only use a quick report, I am simply saying that the quickreport contains every bit of information required by the state with the exception of listing net pay instead of gross.

Haskel would use the summarize payroll data in Excel report.

Well I can't seem to get this same layout in the Payroll Summary report as I did in the quick report and I also can't seem to get it to list every pay period (we run weekly payroll from Fri -Thu with pay on the next Fri), just the end of the week which the system seems to put as Sunday. The reason I go back to the quickreport is that it has every bit of information I need in a one page report, all laid out in the proper manner with one small exception, it list net pay for each week instead of gross. I can't seem to get the Payroll summary to come close to this. Even if I slim down the Payroll Summary report it is still too large to print off and send back to the State and it does not provide the pay period dates like the quick report does, which is also something I must provide to the State in my report.

Modify the employee quickreport in the following way: On the modify tab - choose to show "payroll item". On the filter tab - click on "payroll item" and change it to "all gross pay". Then click on "detail" and choose "all". I think this will give you the report you need.
